Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is well-known for his sharp-edged character or humorous characters in action films. He has been in over $2.5 billion dollars of films. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German-born actor was born in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany on March 19 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived on a military base in the United States. His family emigrated to the U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was raised in Penns Grove by his mother who worked for an establishment that was a bank, while his father, a welder and factory worker and welder. Willis was interested in drama during high school. When he worked at an New York City café, the cafe was "discovered". Then, he was able to be seen in a variety of off-Broadway shows. He was working as a bartender one night when a casting director saw his style and asked him to be bartender in a tiny film. Willis tried out for a variety of roles in movies, but was not acknowledged. He was eventually offered the role as David Addison, a private eye, along with Cybill Shepherd, in the romantic comedy series Moonlighting (1985). The sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. is one of the most memorable of his professional career. is considered by some to be an attempt to play the role of hard-boiled NYC detective "John McClane" in the monster hit Die Hard (1988), in which Willis' character single-handedly battled an uncompromising gang of international thieves within the Los Angeles skyscraper. He reprised the role of McClane in the follow-up film, Die Hard 2 (1990) which was set in a snowbound Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of renegade Special Forces soldiers seek to get back an infamous South American general. The sequel, Die hard with avengeance (1995), was a hit. It starred Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shop owner who is required to join forces with McClane during a terrorist bombing campaign that took place during a hot New York day.
