Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop-rock
boy band formed in 2009. The group consists of Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow
and Logan Henderson. They signed initially with Nick Records in 2009. Then,
Columbia Records transferred them to their new label. The group appeared in
Nickelodeon’s television show Big Time Rush. The show aired from November 28,
2009 to July 25, 2013. The pilot episode featured the group’s first single
promo, "Big Time Rush". The band has released three albums, including
BTR in 2010, Elevate in 2011 and 24/Seven in 2013. In 2014, the band went on an
indefinite hiatus which lasted until 2021. The band resumed live shows in the
studio, and then released "Call It Like It's Like It's Looking".
Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush to an album deal in 2009 simultaneously with
its television series, Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon has also teamed up with
Columbia/Epic Label Group for production and original music. For the show,
their first single, "Big Time Rush" came out on November 29 on the
29th of November. Officially announced by Nickelodeon in November 2009, the
series was broadcast for the first time in the United States. The song was
later released internationally. The show premiered during a one-hour special
preview of the series and it is currently the show's main theme. Promo singles,
such as "City is Ours", "Any Kind of Guy" and many more
were made available during the course of the series. Big Time Rush also
performed a Play song called "Famous". It was released to iTunes on
the 29th of June, 2010. Another song, "Halfway There", was released
to iTunes on April 27, 2010 after its premiere in the series. The song quickly
became the first charting song on the Billboard Hot 100. Due to the digital
sales it climbed to number 93. On September 21, 2010, Big Time Rush released
second single "Till I Forget About You" in order to announce the
release of their debut album. The album, BTR was released on October 11 on the
11th of October, 2010. It debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200, selling
67,000 copies in the initial week of release.
