Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
was a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live before going to appear in
major-screen comedies such as 'Elf 'Anchorman,' and Talladega Nights. Will
Ferrell was born in Irvine in 1967. He began his career in comedy as a part of
the group from Los Angeles called The Groundlings. After his successful
seven-year tenure as a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live, he was one of
the film industry's most popular comedic performers through off-color films
such as Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004).
Ferrell was also the co-founder of the video streaming website Funny or Die and
enjoyed the success of voice acting in animated films such as Megamind (2010).
John William Ferrell was born on July 16 1967, in Irvine, California. Will
Ferrell is the eldest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell (and
Kay Ferrell), but he wasn't the class clown when he was at University High
School. Ferrell, who was calm and quiet was adamant about making his mark in
football, where he set a school-record for most field goals he scored. Ferrell
was a more laid-back person living in suburban homes and didn't show the same
kind of funny or outrageous outbursts later to define his career. "Very
even tempered, very comfortable," his mother recalled in an interview with
Esquire. "You have seen those cute Matchbox cars? Will arrange his
Matchbox cars by himself and be totally content. If you were to ask him,
"Do you want to visit Disneyland today or put your cars in line?' It's a
hard conversation for him to contemplate. "That's not to say Ferrell was a
straight man. One glimpse of Ferrell's comedy talents was displayed each
morning at high school when Ferrell disguised himself in order to announce what
was happening on the PA system. After graduating in 1986, Ferrell was a student
at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles, where he was a member
of the Delta Tau fraternity and pursued a degree in sports journalism.
